To get to the island:

Privately operated ferries provide rides for cars, bicyclists, rvs and pedestrians from the mainland to the island at Marblehead and Sandusky.

Kelleys Island Ferry has the only daily auto/passenger ferry service to Kelleys Island. The ride is approximately 20 minutes and boats are scheduled at least every hour (weather permitting) with additional service at peak times and holiday weekends.

Things to Do:


A double-lane launch ramp located on the island's north shore provide access to Lake Erie. There are kayak rentals available at the beach from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Fishing (Ohio fishing laws and information)

A stone pier and fishing along the shoreline. There is even a fish cleaning house located in the campground.

Hunting (Ohio hunting laws and information)

Limited hunting, including bow hunting of deer, is permitted in designated areas of the park in season.


Kelleys Island State Park offers two picnic areas.


A 100-foot public swimming beach on Lake Erie.


There is a one-mile hiking trail, North Shore Loop Trail, can be found at the park. There are also four miles of multiple use trails for hikers and mountain bikers through the East Quarry. North Pond Nature Preserve features a 1 mile-long boardwalk trail with an observation deck.

Caddy Shack Square "Family Fun Place" downtown Kelleys Island on Division Street a block north from Water Street / Lakeshore Drive. Includes:bike and cart rental, gem mining, putt putt golf and gift shop.

Kelleys Island Brewery:  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on the lawn, at handmade rock bar outside or our indoor dining room with a lot of local accents.
